This is the fence and gate I have made for the bus depot. I want to go with a modern minimalist art style . This screenshot is the gate and fence in Unreal Engine 5.6.1
The colour of the gate and fence will be between green, blue, black or light blue. This will be chosen at a later date; for now, they are green. Â
This was made using the Boolean tool and the cutting tool to form the roof. I made one side and then used the Duplicate Special tool, which will make a copy right next to it, making both sides of the shed as well as keeping all the faces in the right way. This is very important when it comes to Unreal Engine, as this will make it easier when working with texturesÂ
This is where I used this tool by going to the edit tab, hovering over the Duplicate Special tool, and clicking the box next to it. This allowed me to make a copy facing the right way, saving me time and ensuring all the faces are in the right direction. After this was done i then froze transformations and cleared the shapes hisotory this make editing th shpe there claenerÂ
This is where I made a shape that is 600 in Depth 800 in width, and 450 in height using the boolen tool i select the outer shpae that is the shed and the new shap in this oder then i go to the boolen and click A - B this cut the hole in the shape i wanted and then i made a 900 width shape to cut out the walls updo the door to make a post at the door.
This is the block out of the shed it is a claner modren take on one of the sheds at the salisbury reds bus depor i plan to add a side door and a shutter this shed can hold 2 buses where they can undger go light maitntenance. This is due to go into substaice painter for texturing and details this will be complated soon also this will only happen once the door frame has been added.

The road, The lane width is 360CM with the foot path being 200CM in width with the crub being 12.5 CM in hight.

The main issue has been time during the 1/2 term i have found it hard to find time however i have manage to find a hour or so haer and there , What was the main issue i have faced this wekk?
The main issue i have faced is trying to get a fence i have made to cuver around the bend on the primtor of the bus depot how did i try to do this ?
Mash this is a new thing i found however im not sure on how it really works but what i know is that you add a the curve into the mash and the mesh will follow this around the cuver however i was unable to get the fence (mesh) cuvre around the cuvre this is a ongoing task i have set myself i have been doing a lot of reasrech into this tool such as youtube vidoes that show me how to use this tool however due the mash tool being used for more than one used case and type all the vidoes very and i have found a few that cover what i am after but dose not 100% show me what i need to do this.
What is the plan ?
I will find online forums where i can ask my question with screenshots and see if anyone else has had this issue that i have had and hw did they over come this. for now the fance on the cuver is on hold and i will now move the office on site for the bus depot this will cover 1/2 floors with windows and some of the intera will be moddoled based on the time i have left as i also have to make the over haed charging docks as well as work on the layout of the depot.
i am making the road marking for the justion into the bus depot this will also go with the traifc light set up i wish to go with . i have had some isses with making this in substaice painter 3d so i am googling to see if anyone else has found a better way to make thisÂ
i want the layer of pint like on a road in real life you find that the paint used adds a small rised layer in the roadÂ

I have started using using adobe substance 3D sampler to make the most resent texture however the end product was not to my expected level of detail hower i can fix this using adobe substance 3D painter as you can see below this is the end product of the road i have made however i feel that some more work can be done to this to make it better however this also helps when it comes to making the deport parking bays and genal grounds as this texture will help show that this is a used depot as well as making use of the cracks filter in smapler as cracks can be found in the road when a bus has been parked on the ashpalt while raining .
in engine screenshot of my work however note this mesh segment you can see is not for this project and is something else i am working and i used this to test the texture to see how t will work and it did turn out farly well however there are a few improvemnt's i wish to make and i might look to make a redesign of this texture i will now use my road for this project when i remake this on monday this will then then be added to this drop down section .
Screenshot of substance 3D sampler , This is where i made the texture following the youtube vidoe made by adobe however i faced to changles as the softwhere verisn they had is over 3 yaers old and this is new updated version i am using and some buttons have been moved or removed i do plan to look for a updated vidoe on this .
What did i do i used the Asphalt assets form the assets tab and dragged it over to the Layers tab dropping it in this is where i chagne the colour , hight , and othere properties next i added a layer filter this is to allow me to resize the texture and the overall look (like cropping a photo but this photo is tilled and go on for ever ) next i added a secound Asphalt to the layers list above the Transfom filter i just added this is where i shose one of 4 presets and then i edited the proptites and then i added concrete form the assets list and adjusted the properites untill i was happy with the how the road looked , Next i added tryed to add a diffrent colour line to show cars has driven over the road however i was unable to get this to work , next i added a crack filter this adds to the roads look but making it looked well used and then added a hight to AO this is to make it show up as 3D in unreal engine .

The main thing that I was researching was how to get a mesh to follow a curve (what is a curve in Maya?)
As you can see in the screenshots below, this will show you how to use the CV (Curve tools)
In the ribbon bar, you will see a list in order from left to right: File, Edit, Create, Select, etc. You will want to click on CreateÂ
Then a drop down will open (As see in the left most screenshots) . The you can over over the Curve Tools and a new window will populate to the right hand side of the drop downÂ

The cruvered fance final product this was complated using the maya sweep mesh tool this was found after a lot of youtube vidoes being watch and i found this by chanse as wellÂ
This stage screenshots will mostly cover unreal engine and a litte part of maya and will show over time how much had been chagnedÂ
This is the junction with the fancing and trees with the textuers made in substance painter and smapler 3D this took some time making however the end product was not that bad however there was still more i can do to improve this however this was one of the ebst textuers i have made .
and this is the other junction i made with the textuer i also made in the same way again however i did not like this one as much however it dfid look more like how you would expect to see this in real lifeÂ

This is the sheld i made in the blockout i am yet to textuer this however i will be going with a grey metal on for this as this a shed and is not as important part of te deport and prely functionly onlyÂ
The gate in a later screen shot i will upload to the gates patter had a redo to look better and claener as this patter did not look right on one side this is a fix i am working on to improve thisÂ

this next part of the depot was the part that took a lot of working out and had i planned this better might not of took so long to get right as you can see in the screenshot above i made this textuer in substance painter this took a lot of guess work and this is way this did not look really good however the outof aside the textuer did noit load very well in unreal engine and thus was not a good use for the depot so i had to go and replan thisÂ
In my replan i workedout for the road makings i can makie this a decal next i took the texter made in substance painter to removed all the white raod makings and made it a titlble texter so it will work on chunks of the deport landÂ
this is the plan layout for the depot floor as you can see the diffrent chunks i have used diffrent colours in maya to keep it claer what is for what
this is the final depot floor made out of asphalt and the road has had a redo as well keeping the texture in a nice clean and easy to see layout after this i now have to work on laying out the decals how this was made is buy using photoshop making a blackline with a white background and flipping the colours in unreal so the black goes into the alpha channel turning what same the black is translsentÂ
using the translucent and decal drop down in the materials editor in unreal i can then plug the RBG channel into the base colour and the alpha into the opacity channel making thew decal I need this saved me a lot of time over using the trail and error mothered i was doing with substance painterÂ
due to running out memory in unreals texter streaming pool being set to the max i found this also saves some of that for other parts of unreal engineÂ
looking back to the blockout i talked about the main building and working on the insdie however this did not end happing i did some of the inside but this was aslo a issue with running out of memmory with adding the trees however i felt the trees are more importantÂ
however this is the inside i added a platerboard wall with the final redner form last ayers FMP edited in photshop to add some bardning for this bus depot i flet this was a nice addtion to this project as it fits in with the transport them and i had this work wit the door in the wall with lining the image up with the gap .Â
the eletric bus charging charing station this is based of weston supermaers deports chaging kit however i made my own one with steps to walk to so you can drop the power cables down and again i have gone for minmlistic moden industal designe to thisÂ
This is what the charging bays look like when rendered and i feel the trees add a nice touch but something i need to reflect onÂ
